Family-Sponsored Immigration

Immediate Relatives: U.S. citizens can sponsor spouses, parents, and unmarried children under 21. There are no annual caps on visas in this category.

Family Preference Categories: Includes unmarried adult children, married children, and siblings of U.S. citizens, and spouses and children of lawful permanent residents. These categories have annual visa limits.

Employment-Based Immigration

EB-1: For priority workers, including individuals with extraordinary ability, outstanding professors and researchers, and multinational executives.

EB-2: For professionals with advanced degrees or exceptional ability.

EB-3: For skilled workers, professionals, and other workers.

EB-4:For special immigrants, including religious workers and employees of U.S. foreign service posts.

Diversity Visa Lottery

Annually allocates 50,000 visas to individuals from countries with low immigration rates to the U.S. Applicants are selected through a random lottery and must meet certain education or work experience requirements.

Asylum and Refugee Programs

Asylum: For individuals already in the U.S. who cannot return to their home country due to persecution based on race, religion, nationality, political opinion, or membership in a particular social group.

Refugee: For individuals outside the U.S. who face similar persecution.

Non-Immigrant Visas

H-1B: For specialty occupation workers.

L-1: For intracompany transferees.

F-1 and M-1: For students attending academic and vocational institutions.

B-1/B-2: For temporary visitors for business and tourism.
